The Sound Quality is horrible but that was a tight show for sure. PDX POP is an alright Portland Music Festival but its not as good as POH Hop when it comes to hip hop. PDX Hip Hop is all about good underground rap and alternative hip hop with a little bit of West Coast swagger thrown in. PDX POP is mostly all about pop music. Which in my book is pretty lame.
Portland Break Dancers busting out in the streets of Portland, Oregon. PDX Hip Hop break dancers are some of the best on the west coast. The saturation of b-boys and b-girls at PSU is the main reason for it. There are a lot of people that either go to PSU or at least attend their break dancing events and they make up most of the local break dance scene.
I don’t necessarily agree with all the songs on this video. But someone apparently does. They got a lot of views on Youtube, so without further ado… for the fans.

The Portland Oregon Hip-Hop Festival (POH-Hop) has been a monumental and historic event from the time of it’s creation in 1995. David Parks, Steven Spyryt, and Terrance Scott had a vision to create an event that gave local hip-hop artists an outlet to expose their art to the masses.
With the support of the community and some of the cities music industry luminaries, POH-Hop exploded on the scene, and was successful even beyond the expectations of its creators and supporters. Over the past 11 years, POH-Hop has featured some of the most talented local artists, as well as national stars like The Luniz, Spearhead, Mistah FAB, One Be Lo, Mac Dre, Ras Kass, Andre Nickatina, and more.
Not only has POH-Hop benefited local artists in the form of exposure, POH-Hop has also raised and donated funds to The Black Education Center and KBOO Community Radio.

Seattle super producer and self proclaimed “great beat writer” Jake One steps from behind the boards to present his own debut full-length album, White Van Music. Polishing his production chops over the last decade, Jake One has crafted the musical soundscapes for everyone from De La Soul(“Rock Co.Kane Flow” feat. MF DOOM) to 50 Cent (“All Of Me” feat. Mary J. About Jake One
Jacob Dutton, better known as Jake One, is an American hip hop record producer from Seattle, Washington.
Dutton grew up in Capitol Hill and moved to the North End of Seattle when he was 15. He started making music on a Casio keyboard in 1992. He attended the University of Washington and gave a tape of his music to a friend who worked in a local record store. One of the store’s other employees, the DJ Mr. Supreme heard the tape, and when he set up his Conception Records label, he used Dutton to create backing tracks.[2] The first record he produced was Eclipse’s “World Premier”. His early influences included Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and Marley Marl.
He was a part of the G-Unit production team, The Money Management Group. He is now under Dr. Dre’s production team as of late 2008.
His first album credited to Jake One, White Van Music, was release on October 7, 2008 on Rhymesayers Entertainment, which features contributions from Brother Ali, Young Buck, De La Soul, M.O.P., Freeway, MF DOOM, Slug, and Keak Da Sneak.
He has had tracks included on the soundtracks to films such as Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (50 Cent’s “I Don’t Know Officer”), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (“Jake Alert”), and Gone Baby Gone.

Illmaculate and The Saurus bring freestyle battle raps are way harder. Frankie Wapps and Jaze Juice laugh and clown way too much in this battle. They also use some cliche’ disses on Illmac like calling him lilmac and rhyming “illmac” with “still whack”.
