And while it has been somewhat expensive I believe that I am able to reach more people who would like to go to the show than with more traditional methods like putting flyers on cars or putting up posters around town.

Okwerdz is a fresh coast battle emcee who has been grinding hard on the rap battle scene for a long time now. Okwerdz is regarded as one of the top 10 battle emcees in the world. Okwerdz has been killin emcees in the Grind Time Now rap battle league since it started back in the day. His most notorious battles have been vs T-Rex and Hollow Da Don, two of the dopest battle emcees in Grind Time Now league. The Okwerdz vs T-Rex battle can be seen in a previous post on Bad Habitat Music. Also the Okwerdz vs Hollow Da Don battle has been previously posted on our site.

Knowshun, while having a less powerful following is deserving of all the respect he has gotten and some. Dudes are both sick. Rheteric hit Knowhun with dope punchlines and vice versa. You gotta see this one, another dope emcee battle out of Grind Time Midwest. Props to the Minnieapolis sub-division. Props to Grind Time Now and props to Rheteric and Knowshun for putting on a dope show.

Jimmy Kimmel Live talks to black folks in L.A. about Justin Bieber being nominated for a BET Award. I was surprised that people weren’t more upset or confused about his nomination. First of all he isn’t black. Second he is a boy band pop singer. How does Justin Bieber get nominated for a Black Entertainment Network award when he isn’t black and doesn’t make black music. I could understand if Eminem won an award because he makes Hip Hop. I could understand if Eric Clapton won a BET award because he plays Blues. I cannot understand how Justin Bieber gets nominated for a BET award when he makes little white boy suburbia radio pop songs. That would be like nominating Justin Timberlake for a BET award. Its a total joke.

WSHH 2010 – This is off Kokane’s (West Coast Most Featured Artist) new album due in stores June 1st titled “Gimme All Mine”. I am not sure why this video is titled “featuring Snoop Dogg & The Dogg Pound. I didn’t see or hear anyone but Kokane on this track. That being said its a dope track from Kokane which we haven’t seen a lot of lately.

Hostyle travels all the way from Detroit to take on Baltimore, Maryland’s Troy Brown for one of the “Escape from New York” Undercard matches. For Undercards both of these battle emcees proved that they are worthy of more headline battles. Grind Time New York is a vicious division with tons of emcees that deserve an opportunity like this one to prove that they deserve a shot.

Main event battle from Battle of the Bay II in Mosswood Park, Oakland on November 15th 2008. West Coast Pit Champion, Dizaster takes on 2-Time Scribble Jam and World Rap Champion, The Saurus. The battle was ill, both competitors took it to the limit. The battle ended up going into overtime. Check out the final round below.

Dizaster vs The Saurus Pt. 2
Both Dizaster and The Saurus killed it in the first three rounds and the overtime round. The judges gave it to Dizaster which he most definitely deserved. This was one of Dizasters best battles in my opinion. He defeated one of the battle rap games biggest emcees in a tight battle. This wasn’t enough Dizaster so I posted another ill rap battle between Dizaster and Pumpkinhead aka PH.

One of 3 Main Event Battles from Battle of The Bay 4. Underground hip hop legend & GTNY President, Pumpkinhead takes on Dizaster – one of grind time’s top emcees. Both emcees are not only legends but some of the illest battle rappers alive. This is Dizaster at his best. The dude is a phenom battle emcee. I particularly like how he takes ammunition away from the opposing emcee by using his own race and culture (what could be used against him) and uses it to dis his opponent. My favorite battle from Grind Time New York’s Wreck The Halls. Troy Brown is a dope battle emcee but I was surprised how well Roosevelt did. The dude is fairly unknown in the battle rap game. I give it up to Troy Brown, he always has fresh punchlines. This battle was no different. Hands down one of the dopest battles from Grind Time New York Wreck The Halls.

Another dope emcee battle from the Grind Time New York Division’s Wreck The Halls event featuring two dudes you might not heard of, Rich Dolarz and D.N.A. Hosted by Pumpkinhead aka PH the president of Grind Time New York. Although this battle was one of the undercards at this event it was most definitely one of the illest. Jay Focus is a Christian Emcee which takes away from his ability to battle hard, that being said he didn’t really stand a chance against Amzilla. Jay Focus got hit with hard lines and couldn’t really come back. Amzilla took him out properly on the double. Another fresh battle from Grind Time New York Wreck The Halls event.
