Rheteric is a little more well known on the battle rap scene and he has earned his rep as a dope battle emcee. Knowshun, while having a less powerful following is deserving of all the respect he has gotten and some. Dudes are both sick. Rheteric hit Knowhun with dope punchlines and vice versa. You gotta see this one, another dope emcee battle out of Grind Time Midwest. Props to the Minnieapolis sub-division. Jimmy Kimmel Live talks to black folks in L.A. about Justin Bieber being nominated for a BET Award. I was surprised that people weren’t more upset or confused about his nomination. First of all he isn’t black. Second he is a boy band pop singer. How does Justin Bieber get nominated for a Black Entertainment Network award when he isn’t black and doesn’t make black music. I could understand if Eminem won an award because he makes Hip Hop. I could understand if Eric Clapton won a BET award because he plays Blues. I cannot understand how Justin Bieber gets nominated for a BET award when he makes little white boy suburbia radio pop songs. That would be like nominating Justin Timberlake for a BET award. Its a total joke.

I am not sure why this video is titled “featuring Snoop Dogg & The Dogg Pound. I didn’t see or hear anyone but Kokane on this track. That being said its a dope track from Kokane which we haven’t seen a lot of lately.

For Undercards both of these battle emcees proved that they are worthy of more headline battles. Grind Time New York is a vicious division with tons of emcees that deserve an opportunity like this one to prove that they deserve a shot.

Main event battle from Battle of the Bay II in Mosswood Park, Oakland on November 15th 2008. West Coast Pit Champion, Dizaster takes on 2-Time Scribble Jam and World Rap Champion, The Saurus. The battle was ill, both competitors took it to the limit. The battle ended up going into overtime. Check out the final round below.

Dizaster vs The Saurus Pt. 2
Both Dizaster and The Saurus killed it in the first three rounds and the overtime round. The judges gave it to Dizaster which he most definitely deserved. This was one of Dizasters best battles in my opinion. He defeated one of the battle rap games biggest emcees in a tight battle. This wasn’t enough Dizaster so I posted another ill rap battle between Dizaster and Pumpkinhead aka PH.

One of 3 Main Event Battles from Battle of The Bay 4. Underground hip hop legend & GTNY President, Pumpkinhead takes on Dizaster – one of grind time’s top emcees. Both emcees are not only legends but some of the illest battle rappers alive. This is Dizaster at his best. The dude is a phenom battle emcee. I particularly like how he takes ammunition away from the opposing emcee by using his own race and culture (what could be used against him) and uses it to dis his opponent. While these are some of Dizasters best battles he has plenty more where they came from. Bookmark us and comeback soon for more Dizaster battle raps.

Either way it is important that we don’t let this one slide, keep the pressure as long as we can so they”
I hope this is a real movie and not just a spoof trailer making a statement against Arizona’s new immigration laws. Props to WSHH for having this on their daily video feed.

Two emcees from the Chicago Battlegrounds DVD, Street Profit and Steve Staples, face off in the Windy City Takeover 3 hosted by Sonny Bamboo. Both emcees were dope but Steve Staples hit Street Profit with much better punchlines. Props to Street Profit for winning over the judges for the win. I thought it should have gone the other way. Not all Grind Time Battles go the way you want them to though.

Battle from GTN’s “Broward Beatdown 2″ featuring Maniphest Destne verses T2 Good. Maniphest Destne had a few good lines in the first round but T2 Good had more clever punchlines and a lot more swagger. Second round went to Maniphest Destne for sure though. And he killed it in the last round too. This is the first ever rematch in Grind Time history and its good to see Maniphest Destne win in the rematch.

Fox vs QuDawg
The Jungle’s Fox takes on QuDawg in this GTWC mc battle. Fox is a dope rapper but he didn’t hit QuDawg with any punchlines. QuDawg had punchlines and better variations to his flow and delivery. Both the dudes fucked up a lot. Especially QuDawg at the end of round 2, he fell off before the round was over. The problem with gangsta rappers in battles is there is too much huffing and puffing and not enough rapping. I would have to give it QuDawg though. Word
