Hip hop hustle – Yahoo! India News
Delhi, Jan. 16 — Ever heard of hip-hop on a Marathi number? An upcoming episode of Dance India Dance has a performance by a twosome from Gujarat – Binny Sharma and Dharmesh Yelande from Geeta’s Gang. The duo gyrated to a popular Marathi number – Naagoba Dolaayla Laagla. The judges were impressed by the performance, which had Binny dressed as a naagin (snake) and trying to bite Dharmesh.
At this point, Mithun Chakraborty interrupted saying: “Jaast kaahi naahi honaar. Tulaa log hya pudhe nagoba Dharmesh mhanteel. (Don’t worry, you’ll be ok. We’ll just call you nagoba Dharmesh from now on).”

LOS ANGELES – A Swedish hip-hop artist who ran down and killed a man at a Hollywood crosswalk was convicted of second-degree murder, assault and battery Monday.
David Moses Jassy, who also uses the name Dave Monopoly, was acquitted of two other counts, including assault with a deadly weapon. He faces 15 years to life in prison when he’s sentenced next month.
Prosecutors said the 35-year-old rapper killed Los Angeles pedestrian activist John Osnes in November 2008. Prosecutors say Osnes banged on the hood of Jassy’s rented sport utility vehicle when it stopped inside a crosswalk.
Deputy District Attorney Sarika Kapoor said Jassy punched Osnes in the face, delivered a “brutal kick” to his head when the 55-year-old bent down to pick up his glasses, and ran over him as he drove away.
Jassy testified that he never intended to hurt Osnes and cried as he told the court that he didn’t know Osnes had died until police told him the next day.
He said he got out of the SUV because he wanted to see what had happened to the rented vehicle. He said he thought it was “going to be an argument, not a fight.”
Several jurors said outside court that they were not sure Jassy purposely ran over 55-year-old John Osnes or knew that he had done.
Police said Jassy drove away despite witnesses’ attempts to stop him. He was arrested after Los Angeles police traced him through the rental car’s license plate.
Family members said the victim was a self-taught “talented pianist” who worked in the travel industry so he could play professionally as much as possible.
Jassy claimed to have sung with and written several songs for “High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale, as well as for Swedish, German and other international pop artists.

This is a major Grind Time event. Find out more info at www.grindtimenow.com
The following was Quoted From MC Battle Blog -
“The 2nd edition of Grind Time Florida’s Broward Beatdown event went down last night and by all accounts the event was a huge success. For the first time ever, Grind Time streamed some of the battles live from the event. The video is shoddy, but if you’re itching for some new battles you can watch High Collide Vs. Swave Sevah and Farnum go against Roosevelt. Continue reading for breakdowns from Medium Farnum, Rugged and High Collide.
Ok so lets start it off like this….
Best Florida event that had happened yet. I think it was way better than Grizzle in many ways. The crowd was big and active the entire event. There was not 1 choke, no drama, and all GREAT battles.
So heres how the battles went…
P-Ro Vs Scotty P- This was the first battle, to be honest i didnt expect too much out of it but they both really impressed me and kicked off the event real nice.
Rival Vs Serge- The battle was dope rival has deffanetly improved ALOT and serge had a line or two that were kinda of unfuckwitable…
Diaz Vs Big Gats- Gats no showed… i was kinda lookin forward to this one..
Ice’alino Vs State Of Mynd- Lemme tell you about one grimey battle. SOM made a great come back for 2010 and ice killed it as usual with some evil ass bars..
T2Good Vs Maniphest- The first GT rematch. Real dope battle mani came with some cut throat ish and t2 deffanetly reddemed himself from the cobra choke. Good battle.
Jee Polo Vs Ubserd- I honestly didnt get to listen to this one too much but from what i remember ubsurd killed it. the kid is coming up quick.. dont sleep on him..
Medina Vs Dutch Vega- Wow talk about a LIVE ass crowd! Medina came with come gully bars but dutch had some of the most comedic ish i had heard all day. It was a great battle cant wait to see it again..
Frank Stacks Vs Surgeon- Probobly one of the funniest battle of the event. Frank stacks is one funny bastard cant wait to see this again they had the crowd rollllin
Syd Vicious Vs ZM- A CRACK BATTLE. Syd came with some of the illest bars of the night and zm was wildin out! Crazy battle and gonna be really debatable.
ATM Vs Thousand- HOLY SHIT. 1 of the 2 battles that stole the show. ATM and Thousand are PROBLEMS. I think Atm had one of the lines of the night. Please i urge you to not sleep on this one.
Roosevelt Vs Farnum- Iv been told it was the best battle if not top 2 of the night. I personally thought we both killed it and took it to another level. I deffanetly have love for roose he did the damn thing, and also had one of the lines of the night if i remember correctly. We both showed that age does not mean a damn thing, and you can see for yourselves. I felt great being one of the main events. One relentless battle thats for damn sure. It will be debatable. Oh and lemme know how the first round looked on ustream im curious.
24/7 Vs Kid Caustic- It was a great battle 24 came with the bars that make you cringe and caustic came with the comedy but switched it up with some really impressive shit. This was dope.
Collide Vs Swave- Wow. I personally felt like i was watching 2 giants battle. Literally. Swave is deffanetly alot more live in person i dont think he comes off the same on camera. They both came with some rediculous bars. One of my favorites of the night. Gonna be debatable.
Wrekonize Vs NoCanDo- This my friends was as dope as i had hoped for. I have never seen either of these cats battle in person and it was crazy. NoCan has crazy ass energy like you would not belive and wrek came real dope. After the 3 rounds they both kicked it old school and did a freestyle OT. It did not sound freestyle at all tho lol. A crazy battle.
Over all i would say great event, florida deffanetly showed we are not going anywhere but up. Shout out to Kap and Biz for putting this shit together it was one hell of an event and im lookin forward to the next one. Broward showed great hospitality for everyone and was a nice change of scenery. -Farnum
all battles were dope as fuck…farn vs roos and 24 vs caustic were my favorite
stacks and atm both killed it too
not to take from the other battles cause they were all really good but those cats stood out
i was too drunk to watch nocan and wreck but i caught bits and pieces and it sounded crazy

Collide Vs Swave- 2 beasts swinging heavy diamond incrusted
fortified platnum blades at each other.Wrekonize Vs Nocando- wreck got better every round
nocando did what he does, got to talk to nocan
about the shots back and forth, its for the love of the art of competing.
great battle,by 2 real emcees. -High Collide”The battles from the Portland New Year’s Eve event were judged by myself, TheSaurus, Okwerdz, Al-One and DJ Nykon. As we were faced with some really thin decisions throughout the event, we definitely anticipated confusion with regard to the judging.

Round 1: Ex-I came with it for sure and had some nice personal shit, but I personally felt Franco’s entire round just a bit more. He took a bit to get it going, but as always, his verse gained momentum and by the end of his round I was really into it.
“I spit it hotter, while this biter rips me off ’cause
He say he got bars but he can’t really spit the hot ones
Frontin’ like he battled, but hasn’t did it often
You get left with the cement shoes, bitch, like Jimmy Hoffa”I give this round to Franco although it was definitely close.
Round 2: Ex-I’s best round for sure. The “nobody’s flyer” line was super ill and he stretched the rest of the scheme into another solid bit with “Toby McGuire in homely attire.” His closer was great and it was delivered super raw.
I love Franco’s style. Much like Ex-I, he gets his point across in creative ways that very few use. The concepts in his lines are executed cleverly along with excellent multis to accompany them. He comes with line after line in a nonstop approach and it works very well.
“My rhymes are all for real/ And when he’s got the writer’s block, I’m kind of hard to kill”
The entire scheme on Sigourney Weaver was super fresh to me.
Again, close round, but I think Franco edged it. Another thing that can’t be stressed enough is how lines appear in the heat of the moment at the event Vs. rewatching the vidoes at home where you can pause to analyze (in this case it hasn’t changed my mind, but it can definitely shorten the gap).
Round 3: Ex-I’s ‘Portland fans/ Orkin man‘ line was nasty. His “virus free/ Hepatitis B” line was the line of the round for me.
Franco came with a pretty dope verse, but it had nothing to do with Ex-I, thus Ex-I takes this round with ease.
OT: Franco absolutely beasted. His whole scheme in the beginning of the first round was bonkers. “What you need to do is stop talkin’/ Like you was in the presence of godfathers and mob bosses.” Wow. Every line in his OT round was a quotable.
Another sick round from Ex-I. Probably his best. The whole “Sam I Am + full retard” shit was great, but Franco wrecked shit.
So there you go. A very good battle, but I felt Franco edged the first two rounds and once it went to OT, it wasn’t even close. Great showing from both.
The other judges analysis will be coming soon so check back frequently.
