I Work Harder Than You Album Review

By: Mindskillz

V!RTU is one of the most versatile emcees I have ever heard. He can rock a super fire hot beat with the hypest rappers out there and on the same album flow on a mellow Jazzmatazz style track. I Work Harder Than You is one of those albums that you can see the improvement of an artist since their last work. His last solo, The Shoe In, was a classic hit. Some of my personal favorite hip-hop tracks are from that album. That being said, his new new hot double hot freshness is better. I Work Harder Than You proves that he works harder than 99% of the hip-hop out there.

Hornings Hideout

This outdoor Oregon Concert will be held at Hornings Hideout in North Plains, Oregon from August 5th through August 7th. It will surely be the best outdoor Oregon music festival/concert of 2011.

Fire in The Canyon

Personaly (Mindskillz) I like Digable Planets most out of the headliners for Fire in The Canyon. They are a chill laid back jazz style hip hop group that reminds me a lot of Gang Starr in essence not sound. Pharcyde and Del are dope too but out of the headliners on the bill Digable Planets are my pick. Out of the Portland Hip-Hop groups that will be performing Lifesavas are on of the best known. I love their recent work and their song with Dead Prez “Freedom Walks” is off the hook. I highly recommend it to alternative hip-hop fans. Overall the Fire in The Canyon concert and music festival is going to be a lot of fun and supports a good cause. Other outdoor concerts in Oregon this summer (2011) can’t compare to the atmosphere and quality of music that will be played. There are going to be some Drum & Bass and Dubstep DJ’s there as well. Also Raise The Bridges and other alternative rock groups will be playing so it’s not just for the Hip-Hop crowd.

McDonalds Racist Prank

McDonalds Racist Prank

Whether this is a prank or an actual announcement from McDonalds this picture will make most people furious. This supposedly was taken in Marin City, California on June 14th, 2011. It has spread around the web like a wildfire and people are speculating whether or not it is real or fake. Either way McDonald’s staff should have taken it down asap and McDonald’s Corporation should release a public statement. Sources say that the phone number in the image calls KFC call center. KFC and McDonald’s are not affiliated and this would lead one to believe that this is in fact a prank. Never the less, McDonald’s has not released a statement regarding the image as of June 14th, 2011. We will keep you posted on the details surrounding this controversy. Is McDonald’s racist? We will see.

Update June 15, 2011

Hoax Confirmed

According to yahoo http://news.yahoo.com/ it is a prank/ hoax and a PR Headache for McDonalds

An online hoax that falsely suggests McDonald’s discriminates against African-American customers is causing a PR headache for the Golden Arches.

Over the weekend, the photograph above circulated widely on the internet. The image shows what looks like an official McDonald’s notice in the window of a restaurant, telling customers that blacks will be charged $1.50 extra ”as an insurance measure due in part to a recent string of robberies.”

Many internet users retweeted the photo, using the words “Seriously McDonald’s,” to express their disapproval of the burger chain.

In response, McDonald’s sent a tweet of its own on Saturday: “That pic is a senseless & ignorant hoax McD’s values ALL our customers. Diversity runs deep in our culture on both sides of the counter.”

But that clearly wasn’t enough to clear things up, because Twitter users continued to send out the picture, with that same message of condemnation: “Seriously McDonald’s.” Indeed, so many people sent “Seriously McDonald’s” Tweets that the phrase became a leading entry on Twitter’s trend list.

That led to a second, blunter McTweet, on Sunday: “That Seriously McDonalds picture is a hoax.

Portland Web Design

Portland Web Design CompanyPortland, OR Website Design

We are proud to feature Portland, Oregon based Web Development Company, Global Market Exposure for their contribution to our internet marketing campaign and the hard work on our website. As one of the top Online Advertising Agencies in the world, they have expanded into the Web Design and Development Industry in the past few years. We have been very glad that they have as they have helped to build our website into a powerhouse on the web. Our dotcom has become one of the top Portland Hip-Hop sites and gets a lot of traffic for people looking for Underground Rappers online. Thanks to everyone at GME for all of your hard work. We are reaping the rewards. If you don’t know, they are one of the highest rated Portland Web Design companies and they build websites for people all over the world in nearly every industry. From Real Estate to Night Clubs, Hip-Hop Artists to Country Bands, GME employs skilled graphic designers that can create a website customized to your style. Other Portland Web Design Firms don’t really compare in quality of services. Some of the other Oregon Website Development companies offer web design services but can’t advertise it for you. GME does it all and has ran multiple successful Google Placement, Facebook Advertising and Social Media Marketing Campaigns for us in the past few years. Big ups to Global Market Exposure. If you are interested in getting a website for your hip-hop group, studio or record label, they are hip-hop culture friendly and have payment plans available if you can’t come up with your ends up front.

Hailing from Portland, OR Bad Habitat has a lot of respect for other Portland area businesses and organizations. That is why we first chose to spend our marketing budget with GME. They have proven to be the best Portland Website Development Company and have gone above and beyond with their Online Advertising services as well as their top quality customer service. We wouldn’t be giving such a strong endorsement if it weren’t for their hard work and perseverance. For information about their services such as Facebook Advertising Costs and more follow one of the links on this page to their site. Online Advertising Agency

Online Advertising CompanyEverybody knows that in order to promote your band effectively you have to build a strong internet presence. “But how?”, you might ask. “I have a Twitter account and a Facebook. I even still use Myspace”. While those things are great, there is more than just social media. And Facebook/Twitter can be ineffective if your not careful. To use twitter well you don’t want to post spam and you don’t want to post inappropriate personal things like relationship problems or what you had for dinner. Stick to when you are doing shows, songs you are working on, lyrics, news, etc. Also make sure you follow people who are the same genre as your music, but don’t follow too many people. For custom backgrounds for twitter employ a graphic design or website design company like Banner Placement. They will build you custom graphics for your Facebook, Twitter and Youtube profiles to help promote your band online. They also build custom graphics for band websites like ours. They work closely with their clients to make sure that you are happy with the finished product.

Internet Marketing Company

Online Advertising AgencyThere are many internet marketing companies out there that will offer similar services for artists. Total Market Exposure is one such Online Advertising Agency. They excel in social media marketing techniques and have helped build Bad Habitat’s presence on the web bigger than we ever thought possible. Our current internet advertising campaign consists of Facebook Ads, Search Engine Optimization and Website Design. For what other companies would charge tens of thousands of dollars we are only paying a few thousand. And the results are evident.

Some Online Advertising Agencies offer combinations of Facebook Advertising, Social Media Marketing and Web Design which allow for you to be placed in front of potential fans who have already announced to the world that they have an interest in your style of music. Facebook Advertising Companies will advertise to people who like similar artists and genres of music. With multiple variations of images and ad text they optimize the results to give you the highest return on investment. Also by making an official band page on Facebook it allows you to connect with your fans daily. The website can be an excellent tool to drive traffic to the places around the web that your album is available for sale. Whether you want a store on your website or just to link to iTunes, Amazon or CD Baby, a well designed and search engine friendly website will help you out a great deal. Lastly making sure that you have top notch graphics for your Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and other social networks is key as well. Some Internet Marketing Companies will even manage your social profiles for a monthly fee. If you are independent some of these services can get expensive but are not completely out of reach. Especially if the company offers payment plans or if you start off small and work your way up. If you are a marketing manager or work with a talent agency or record company some of these services are a necessity. Spending money on flyers, posters and street teams no longer yields the kind of results available online. 50 Cent: Bulletproof Video Game

50 Cent Bulletproof Soundtrack50 Cent: Bulletproof Soundtrack

Following 50 Cent being asked to voice the main character of GTA San Andreas, Carl “CJ” Johnson, Bulletproof was developed. 50 Cent stated that he will only voice himself in video games. 50 cent bulletproof received mostly negative reviews from game critics but hip-hop fans agree that his new songs are pretty dope. The 50 Cent Bulletproof soundtrack features 13 original songs from 50 Cent. Consumers who pre-ordered the album were also given a never-before-released DVD of 50 Cent’s 2003 European tour called, “No Fear, No Mercy”. The game is available on Xbox and Playstation, the soundtrack is available online and in stores. You can find it on Amazon and iTunes. If you are more into having real CD’s rather than just MP3’s, I suggest going with Amazon, you can find really good deals on slightly used good quality CD’s. Another great game with really good music is NBA 2K11. Check out the NBA 2K11 Soundtrack on Bad Habitat Music.

About 50 Cent Bulletproof

The protagonist is hip hop artist 50 Cent playing himself. The story revolves around 50 Cent’s search for vengeance, hunting down the hitmen that attempted to murder him. The game features other hip-hop artists such as Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck, members of the G-Unit rap crew, as 50’s gang. Dr. Dre plays an arms dealer, Eminem plays a corrupt police officer, and DJ Whoo Kid playing as himself as a person selling “bootlegged” music (of the G-Unit camp) out of his trunk. There is also a video game soundtrack album available titled, Bulletproof, and released by DJ Red Heat’s Shadyville Entertainment. It also won “Best Original Song” in the 2005 Spike TV Video Game Awards. A sequel, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, was released. 50 cent bulletproof got almost all negative reviews due to the poor gameplay mechanics and poor voice acting by 50 Cent. However the game was praised for its surprisingly high quality story line.

GTA San Andreas Song List

San Andreas Radio Stations

The soundtrack of the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is set in 1992 in the fictional west coast state of San Andreas. The setting is basically California (the San Andreas fault runs strait through California) and the west coast hip-hop that dominates the video game is that of Los Angeles. The radio stations do not just play music however, there are talk shows, news, weather and a variety of rock, rap and other genres of music. Many of the songs interpolate or sample other songs which feature in this or other GTA titles, such as Ice Cube’s “Check Yo Self”, which samples “The Message”, which was featured in Vice City or “Weekend” which appears in its original form on Paradise FM in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

The radio can be heard when driving in vehicles in San Andreas. You have the option to change the station to whatever you like but when you first get in, the station will be set to the type of station that the driver would have been listening to. So if you jack a car from an old lady she will be listening to old ass lady radio, not G Rap Radio. Some vehicles in the game don’t have radios, so don’t try to bump the latest early 90’s gangsta rap in a police cruiser, ambulance, tractor, bicycle, forklift, or cheap ass boat. Radio stations, or some of the songs featured on them, can also be heard in the background in certain locations, such as bars, clothing stores, clubs, casinos, and safehouse wardrobes. On the Xbox and PC versions of the game you are allowed to create your own custom radio stations by importing you own music.

Hempstalk 2011

Portland’s Hempstalk 2011

Portland’s annual Hempstalk Festival in Portland, Oregon is one of the largest events in the pot friendly state which advocates the decriminalization of marijuana for medicinal, industrial, and recreational use. The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation was founded in 2005, and since then the festival has taken place the weekend after Labor Day in September every year. The event features food vendors, live music, guest speakers and information booths. This public event has always been free to attend.

Hempstalk Portland, Oregon

According to Paul Stanford, founder and presenting sponsor of the event, “Hempstalk is about the many uses of agricultural hemp fiber, oil, protein, fuel and medicine. We are working to end adult cannabis prohibition, allow adults to grow their own and license the legal sale of psychoactive cannabis to adults. We believe that hemp will save the Earth’s biosphere with the adoption of hemp seed for bio-diesel fuel, which will solve the energy and world hunger problems, and stop deforestation when hemp fiber is used for paper and building materials. We support the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act of 2012 to implement this. We shall overcome!”
