Def Jam Rapstar is a new video game set to be released Fall of 2010. It is a karaoke style video game which allows the user to spit lyrics on beat, build a reputation and do shows similar to Rock Band. The game looks very promising especially in the official Def Jam Rapstar Trailer. I am excited about it and look forward to the release of Def Jam Rapstar which has been dubbed the “Rock Band of Hip Hop”. On the official website there is a sweet video game called “You Don’t Know Rap” which allows you to test your Hip Hop trivia knowledge. You Don’t Know Rap
The “You Don’t Know Rap” trivia game is pretty tight. I played but didn’t get very far through. You really have to know a lot about all kinds of hip hop trivia including old school artists, albums, rappers real names, song lyrics and oh so much more. I haven’t been able to get past the 700 point mark but if you really know your stuff you can probably own this game. It is not the best Hip Hop Trivia game that I have every played, but its damn good. And it works as a great teaser for the real game set to be released this Fall. “You Don’t Know Rap” is kind of a play on “you don’t know crap” and “so you think you can dance”. The Def Jam Rapstar website looks sick but it can be a little difficult to find the hip hop trivia game if you don’t know where to look.
